Leadership from Source

In a company with excellent results, everything seems to work out fine. When you talk to people, they might say the company is ‘in flow’. Processes are running smoothly, people are happy, customers are happy and the shareholders are happy as well. There seems to be harmony all over the place.

Of course, this is no coincidence – everything within this company is aligned. People have thought very carefully about why they exist, they have thought about the processes, the organizational structure, the products and the way the people are facilitating the results. Or they didn’t. And still, it is aligned.

The alignment has to do with cause and effect – things happen because of something else. But sometimes, we can’t immediately find or tell the logic behind the ‘things that happen’. It’s like in nature, where it’s all about cause and effect. The fact is that we know a lot about cause and effect relations in nature, and there are things we don’t know about it. What we do know, is that nature is in harmony. With simple rules working towards balance, so the whole system will survive. As Newton said: “Natura valde simplex est et sibi consona” – “Nature is exceedingly simple and harmonious with itself”.

So, if nature is harmonious, and we are part of nature, and our (business) results are the results of what we do, why isn’t everything in harmony? Maybe this is, because we’ve lost the ability to dig deeper. Digging deeper means connecting with the essence of what it is all about. Connecting with ourselves, connecting with each other and connecting with the source that connects us. Connecting with the simplicity of nature. When there is real connection, things just happen. When there is real connection, you know what to do.

As human species, we are able to connect. In the last 100 years, we just might have forgotten how to do this. We cán re-teach this ourselves, because we are part of nature. We just need to create the conditions so we can connect again and step into the rhythm of our own Nature. This is what we call the Way of Nature. How do you reconnect?

On june 10th, John P. Milton, founding father if Way Of Nature and inspirer of many leading changemakers like Peter Senge, Otto Scharmer and Joseph Jaworski, will give us insights in this natural way of connecting. Join us!
